Miss Lowther – Selside School Head Teacher & The Explorers Teacher (Years 2 & 3)

What I love about teaching is the noise, mess, laughter and excitement of the classroom. Seeing the children excited by a new topic. Listening to their curious questions. Watching friendships and confidence blossom, and helping children to get those ‘crack it’ moments!
I enjoy teaching outside and observing and enjoying the changes of each seasons, going on exciting school trips to bring the ‘real world’ in the class room, as well as enjoying a good picture book!

Mrs Corbett – The Adventurers Teacher (Nursery, Reception & Year 1)

I love to see children excited about their learning and striving to achieve their best. Selside School is an inspiring setting and welcoming community where every child is celebrated as an individual. Children are motivated by learning that is active, vibrant and fun, so will always remember this special place.

Ms O’Callaghan – The Discoverers Teacher (Years 4, 5 & 6)

I believe that a classroom should be a safe, caring community, where children are free to speak their mind to blossom and flourish. I love hands-on learning, investigations and projects, both inside and outside the classroom. We are so lucky at Selside to have a beautiful, stimulating outdoor environment where children can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

Miss Lace – The Discoverers Senior Teaching Assistant

I love when I’m part of a child’s learning and watching them grow from the opportunities they are given. I enjoy watching those moments when children achieve and seeing that ‘light up moment’ of how proud they are of themselves. I also like sharing a picture book or story with the children and watching their faces.

Mrs Poole – The Adventurers Teacher (Nursery, Reception & Year 1)

I love to learn. I love creating learning adventures to share and explore with the children. As a teacher, seeing a child’s face full of discovery and enlightenment is my greatest joy.

I am excited and grateful to be part of the Selside School community. I cherish the school vision of looking to the hills and beyond. I believe in providing opportunities for children to expand their horizons in all aspects of their learning and creating visions of their own future.

Mrs Clare Thomas – The Adventurers Teaching Assistant

Being born and raised on a farm just outside (Hawkshead/ Ambleside) . I have always had a passion for the outdoors. As a keen runner it takes me all over the Lake District and beyond. I have completed half marathons, marathons and even an Ultra marathon.

When not running I spend time walking in the fells with my husband and son. I guess you could say we are definitely an outdoor family!.

Mrs Stevens – After School Club Leader & Midday Supervisor

I love my days caring for the children at Selside school. Each day is different from the next, and I feel very privileged to work and live in such a beautiful place. My own children attended the school which holds many happy memories for them and us as a family.

When I’m not at work you may see me running on the fells.

Mrs Leeming – Midday Supervisor

I thoroughly enjoying working Lunchtimes at Selside School. The staff are very friendly and the children are all so well mannered and behaved. My daughter comes to the school and is thriving in the setting.

Mrs Ridding – Cleaning & Midday Supervisor

I am a farmer’s wife from Selside. I have been part of the team at Selside School for many years. It’s always a pleasure to see the children and to be a part of this caring community.

Mrs Dove – Business Manager

As one of the newer members of the team, I joined Selside Primary School recently and you will find me in the school office, out and about around school, and helping with clubs like gardening and rag-rugging.  I am privileged to have joined a vibrant school with well mannered curious children eager to learn in their amazing setting, and to be part of a dedicated team of teachers, staff and  governors.  We also have a welcoming friendly and supportive school community of parents and volunteers.
