Welcome to Selside Endowed Church of England Primary School

Selside is a very special place to learn, and where we see each day as a learning adventure. We are situated just off the A6, only a short drive from Kendal and have the most amazing grounds, including a wild life area and stream, a large playing field and an outdoor classroom. Our environment greatly contributes to our children’s sense of well- being and provides endless opportunities for learning.

At Selside, all children are treated as individuals and taught in small class groups. It is this personalised approach that allows children to enjoy learning and achieve success. We believe that children thrive in this small-scale family environment where they can develop a sense of both personal and communal responsibility. They develop the confidence to challenge themselves to try new things and achieve highly across the curriculum.

The amazing rhythm of the changing seasons and the beauty of nature allows our pupils to live healthy, balanced lives; developing physical and mental wellbeing, a sense of awe and wonder and awareness of the spirituality aspects of life.

We all work very hard to provide an outstanding learning environment – where you will find teachers who are passionate about great teaching and children who are enthused by learning. Our curriculum is innovative, challenging and fun. It is taught through exciting projects both inside and outside of the classroom.

We enjoy involving parents and the wider community in the life of the school as much as we can and we are proud of the many memorable learning experiences we provide together. We have a very active and supportive School Association which all families become part of.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our website. I hope you enjoy discovering more about learning at Selside School.
